Non League Weekend Round Up
Non League Weekend Round Up

It wasn’t the best of weekend’s for a lot of Kent’s non league clubs with the likes of Ebbsfleet, Dover and Bromley all tasting defeat.

In the Conference Premier league, Darlington defeated Ebbsfleet 3-1 with Liam Hatch (20, 71) and Dale Hopson on target for the Quakers while Calum Willock netted the Fleet’s only goal of the game

Woking reasserted their presence at the summit beating Dover comfortably, while Chelmsford City ran riot at Bromley’s expense in the Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.

The Cards, who are three points ahead of Welling United, put three unanswered goals past play-off chasing Dover Athletic, with Dale Binns (9), Jack King (pen 45) and Elvis Hammond (90) doing the damage at Perry’s Crabble Stadium.

Chelmsford maintained their hold on fifth spot with a 6-1 demolition of Bromley at Melbourne Stadium. Kezie Ibe (16), David Rainford (pen 21), Max Cornhill (30), Michael Bakare (52), Joe Benjamin (84) and Craig Parker (90) got on the scoresheet, as did Lewis Taylor (79) for the hapless visitors.

Welling kept the pressure on Woking as a quick-fire brace by Lee Clarke (23, pen 29) saw the Wings record a 2-0 victory over lowly Boreham Wood.

Meanwhile fourth-placed Dartford were held to a 2-2 stalemate at Eastleigh.

The Darts were 2-0 up just past the half-hour mark thanks to strikes by Adam Green (pen 26) and Jon Wallis (36), but Danny Smith (42) and Tom Jordan (53) hit back for the 13th-placed hosts.

Tonbridge Angels slipped from seventh to ninth spot with a 2-0 defeat at Truro City. Edward Palmer (90) sealed the points for the 12th-placed White Tigers following Les Afful’s 18th minute opener.
